Formerly known as Lael Building Group, Andrew and Kelly rebranded the business in 2019 to better reflect what they do. And building beautiful custom homes and remodeling well-loved homes is their passion. Their past clients have hired them to:

Thanks to the world of HGTV, there are high expectations of a home builder and interior designer. They are, after all, sharing access to their hopes, dreams, and their homes! The industry has long been compartmentalized and somewhat segmented, with clients being sent here and there to hopefully coordinate a final product that is a beautiful reflection of their investment. However, the Laels have been working together for over 10 years. Their skills mesh so beautifully that it enables a better partnership with the clients they serve. Kelly, as the interior decorator, understands the construction aspect of the business and can work as a liaison with the clients. And Andrew – with over 300 custom home builds to his name, has a well-established reputation for excellence and industry expertise.

Andrew Lael
Custom Home Builder Since 1989
Andrew Lael has built his reputation on integrity and superior workmanship. With over 300 custom home builds to his name, Andrew is an experienced home builder who leads his team with commitment, excellence, and a higher standard.
Andrew’s experience, coupled with his wife’s vision, has made Lael Homes, formerly Lael Building Group, a successful, family-owned business for over three decades! Also, as concerns for environmental sustainability grow, Andrew is experienced in building green, environmentally-friendly homes.
Kelly Lael
Interior Designer Since 1990
Kelly Lael has an enviable eye for detail, color, texture, and is adept at finding the perfect accent piece. Kelly creates beautiful spaces that are the talk of the neighborhood! Moreover, Kelly’s commitment to creating her clients’ vision (not hers) has firmly established her as a trusted resource with impeccable taste. Whether her clients are looking for traditional, transitional, or contemporary designs – Kelly works closely with her clients to create warm, inviting spaces that exude style and function.
Kelly attended Salem College in Winston-Salem and is a member of the interior design society. But the industry is in her blood. Her family’s remodeling and interior design business gave her a foundation for her future career in the industry.
Together, Andrew and Kelly have won Winston-Salem’s Parade of Homes. They are members of the local Homebuilders Association as well as the National Homebuilders Association. Additionally, the Laels are members of the Better Business Bureau and the Lewisville-Clemmons Chamber of Commerce.
The Laels have a great heart for community involvement. Some of the organizations they support include Women Who Care; Jett Legacy German Shephard Rescue; and they are a part of sponsoring a child for camp each summer with Camp Hanes in King, NC.
